Jennifer was born in Montreal, Quebec and moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1985 and resides here with her wonderful son. I did the 10 day detox and believe me I was not looking forward to it....I had preconceived notions of how it would be but boy was i wrong!  The program was tailored specifically for my goals after answering a few questions on the survey given; and all questions I had was satisfied with clear and detailed answers.

The process itself was not hard to follow, my only difficulty was maintaining the schedule set out for me but that was more about time management issues on my part.  I wasn't too hungry although there were times i did feel peckish but i drank water and that seem to help.   The recipes were tasty and since I was always a person that like to juice it will be something I'll continue only now i have better recipes to follow.  Overall, I feel really good and my energy is up.  I won't lie, as soon as i was able to eat a chocolate i did *hiding face* but my sugar intake is soooo much less!!!

I had a really great experience and will most likely do it again.  Anyone who can make me like brown rice is OK in my book!!

HERE COMES 2013 !

The month of January typically it begins with my Health and my medical checkup appointments. This year I was not worried because I have been a member of SUZIMARI HEALTH & FITNESS STUDIO.  (However an inconsistent member).

So after a December Hiatus, I arrive at the Studio on 3rd January ready to burn off the Christmas calories. That evening I was thrilled to see on the Bulletin Board the Nutrition and Fitness service offered by the collaboration of Suzette and Jennifer Yearwood ( Totallybydesign.ca).  That was just what I needed because despite my good intentions I show up on average twice a week for exercise classes.  So I  figured I really need to control the food I eat to achieve any significant weight loss this year.

I enrolled with the programme on 3rd January for the one month special. So to start off Suzette does her usual chart statistics of my weight, % body fat, inches all over my body.  We discuss my plan would be to loss 8 lbs per week with the diet and exercise. The next day Jennifer contacts me via phone and email and provides me with a “ 7 Day -1300 Calories Nutrition Meal Plan”. Jennifer is just as nice as Suzette and very clear with the guidance and emphasizes the portion control aspect of the diet. I am comfortable with it because the menu options were foods that I like and overall tasty menus.

So I began on  Monday7th January.  I do admit the first 3 days I felt hungry but being at work I was occupied so there was no temptation to cheat. Also I began to look forward to the snacks or meals as they were tasty. The trick is also the 1-2 glasses of lemon juice first thing in the morning. It did reduce my appetite.  By week 2 I felt good and had already figured out the portion control. Meanwhile my attendance at exercise classes was still twice a week.  But I learned not to be greedy and enjoy the portions and food that I had to eat.  During my month on the plan Jennifer followed-up with my progress. Well my final day was 4Th February with the chart before and after. My one month results: Lost 5 lbs, 4% body fat and average of 2 inches all round and with minimum exercise. So just imagine if I had exercised more the 8 lbs would have been gone too!
